Tips For Keeping a Clean BBQ Grill
Whether you’re grilling up a storm during these hot afternoons or lighting up the grill for a roasted dinner, keeping your grill clean in-between use is key to making it last as long as possible, while also being essential for keeping your meals hygienic!
#1 The Grill Gate
Your BBQ’s grate is the most important thing to keep clean. Cooking on a high heat makes it much easier, and cleaning just after you’ve roasted your meal is efficient. Use a grill brush to clean your grill while it’s still hot, perhaps when your meat is resting so that you can leave it to cool down and put it away right away. If you don’t have a grill brush, use aluminium foil in a ball. If you forget to clean it, heat up the BBQ the next time you bring it out and let all the leftover morsels burn before you use it again.
#2 The Bowl
The moment your BBQ is cool, get the ash out of your bowl and into a bucket. Try not to leave this for later because the leftover ash can collect moisture and become a hard substance that will make it very difficult to clean. Use a cloth to clean out the bowl, and then wash it with dish soap.
#3 Everything Else
Your grill is never going to be the shining, spick and span Barbeque that it was when you first bought it, and that’s okay. Your grill will build up oil etc. which is actually good for your cooking. To clean the outside, wipe down with a damp cloth, and clean the inside of the lid if there are charcoal chips on it. Store it somewhere dry and you’re good to go!
